all is well....

Hi Everyone! I know you all have been wondering how Benjamin is doing after his surgery and so far so good! He did extremely well during the surgery and his stay at Children's but since coming home, we all have been very busy. His next surgery is scheduled for December 14th with an admission on the 13th. This surgery is to correct his fistula and part one of his bowel reconstruction. We are headed back to Disney this coming January 2011 for our annual family vacation and while I was a bit concerned (seeing how he will be on a colostomy bag) our team of doctors once again reassured me that all will be fine and we can go. As for Benjamin, he is doing well. He is still a bit sore from the surgery and he has a 2" stitch up incision on his lower back. He movements are still a bit slow and "favored" but for what he has just been through, what more can we all expect.

THANK YOU everyone for all your thoughts, prayers, emails, phone calls and care packages! We & especially our Benjamin is so truly blessed to have angels like you within our family's circle of life!

So happy to hear he's doing so well. Isn't it amazing how children can bounce back so quickly?

You and your family are going to have such an amazing time at Disney in January. It's the best time of year to go. The weather is so nice. You'll have to tell me when you're going. Maybe I can persuade my hubby to drive up for a quick weekend getaway with the kids. :-)

Hope you have a fantastic weekend Shelly!

Hugs,
Grace

Love that little boy! I am so sorry to know that Benjamin's coming home happy & healthy also means that someone else is gone. I know there will always be a place in your heart for Honey. I am truly glad that Benjamin's surgery went so well and that your resilient little boy is HOME and gearing up for Disney World!

Thank you, Shelly, for the update! We will certainly keep little Benjamin in our prayers. What a blessing that this little lamb has you and Keith as his parents!
